DECK COVERINGS / UNDERLAYMENTS SPECIALTY APPLICATIONS
Scientifically Superior.
In the early part of the decade of the 1930s, a British Chemist by the name of John Crossfield had developed a formulation for mixing natural rubber and cement (which are not compatible by nature) to be used as a sloping compound and underlayment for ocean going vessels. Crossfield’s company was called Surfacing Products. In 1938, a group of investors purchased his company and formed Crossfield Products Corp.
During World War II, natural rubber was put on allocation and, at the same time, synthetic rubber polymer technology was being developed for commercial uses. Crossfield Products adopted the new technology and began manufacturing polymer modified
concrete for both interior and exterior of ships such as the Queen Mary, the SS America and the Queen Elizabeth. It also began developing these products in cooperation with the U.S. Navy.
To identify this family of products, the company coined the trade name Dex-O-Tex® which is a contraction of the term “decks of latex.” Dex-O-Tex® has become synonymous with quality construction chemicals with worldwide distribution.
The marine deck covering and coating business continues to remain an important part of the company’s core business. Crossfield Products Corp. has also emerged as a leader in the commercial/ industrial specialty flooring and coatings industry.
Performance Proven.
Today we manufacture a complete line of marine deck coverings and fluid-applied flooring for heavy duty, high impact areas of use, including cutting edge chemical technologies such as Urethane Concrete, Polyaspartic and Polyurea polymers, making Crossfield Products Corp an industry leader of construction coatings. The company prides itself on its’ lasting experience in developing state-of-the art systems, precise manufacturing capabilities and excellent marketing of its brands.
We look forward to an exciting future of providing revolutionary materials through innovative product development resourceful delivery systems, and technological breakthroughs in the deck covering and coatings industry.

SPECIALTY APPLICATIONS
SOUND & VIBRATION
International regulations and standards mandate the requirement to mitigate noise and vibration in occupied spaces. Dex-O-Tex Vibra-Coustic SVD systems significantly reduces the airborne noise and dampens the structural vibration by defusing the kinetic energy wave transfer that propagates the noise and attenuates the vibration to reduce the noise transference.
Undesirable noise is transmitted through the structure of the vessel. Noise and vibrations generated from the engine, propeller, and other mechanical equipment creates vibration that transmit as structure-borne noise into the air or is induced from the large flat areas of the deck. These products are specifically designed to reduce airborne noise (STC Sound Transmission Class) and sound vibration (IIC Impact Insulation Class) as well as reduce structural vibration.

ELASTATEX 500
ELASTAGUARD MEMBRANE
Elastaguard is a flexible urethane/polymeric corrosion containment membrane applied to a thickness of approximately 5/64" (80 mils). Provides a durable protection layer to
properly prepared and primed metallic substrates to provide exception corrosion protection properties. Resilient, sound dampening, lightweight and compatible with most deck covering materials and commercial flooring finishes. Fluid applied to form a jointless surface providing an impermeable elastomeric membrane that protects against corrosion and isolates subsequent applications of underlayments, deck covering or floor finishes from movement. Rapid application turn-around times.
APPROVALS: ANSI 118.10
Elastatex 500 is a fluid applied elastomeric surfacing designed primarily for use as a waterproof exterior deck covering. The material consists of a unique moisture-cured resin binder into
which rubber aggregate is combined at time of application to form a tough, elastic waterproof membrane. A topcoat, available in a range of colors, is then applied. Exceptional adhesion and resistance to cracking and superior waterproofing properties. Provides lasting protection from rust and corrosion to the metal deck surfaces to which it is applied. Durable in constantly wet environments. Resilient and comfortable underfoot. Reduces sound transmission.
ELASTA-VISTIC SVDM
Elasta-Vistic SVDM is a viscoelastic membrane material that offers the ultimate protection against corrosion while providing efficient sound and vibration dampening in demanding marine environments. Elasta-Vistic SVDM offers superior adhesion in an amorphous film that provides a microbial resistant waterproof coating over all metal substrates.
Elasta-Vistic SVDM is applied to metal substrates and covered with any appropriate underlayment or deck covering system. Its high tensile strength and elastomeric qualities enable Elasta-Vistic to dissipate vibration and sound wave energy and provide a dimensional stable surface for subsequent application of stationary decking materials.

BC-100 ADHESIVE
BC-100 Adhesive is a mortar material used for setting and bonding all types of rigid floor and wall tiles. It is typically applied at a 1/16" thickness (1.6 mm) or greater as required.
A specially processed neoprene latex, BC-100 Paste is mixed with BC-100 Powder at the time of application to form a solvent-free adhesive that can be applied to any type of surface. The flexibility imparted by the neoprene latex allows for movement or flexing of the deck or bulkhead that would otherwise cause loss of adhesion from rigid cements. BC-100 Adhesive will not soften with heat nor become brittle when cold and exhibits excellent water resistance and aging properties.
POSI-TRED HDC
Posi-Tred HDC and Posi-Tred HDC-CR are high durability protective coatings that conform with the requirements of MIL-PRF-3217, Type I and Type IV. The Posi-Tred HDC is applied as a smooth protective coating, or a slip resistant aggregate can be incorporated to improved skid

resistance. The HDC-CR is a highly chemical resistant version designed for uses in AFFF stations or any other environment requiring superior chemical resistance.
POSI-TRED M
A two part epoxy resin that incorporates skid resistant aggregates resulting in a surface that is very slip resistant, even when wet, as is often the case aboard ship. Suitable for interior applications and available in a range of colors and slip resistant profiles.
POSI-TRED O
Posi-Tred O is a highly durable, skid-resistant epoxy deck coating for use directly over metal surfaces or other Dex-O-Tex composite systems. Its wide range of skid-resistant profiles, from Very Fine (6 mils) to Very Coarse (65 mils) makes it ideal for use on stairs, ramps, and in other high-traffic areas. Skid-resistant profiles should be chosen to meet the needs of the service environment. Careful consideration must be given to cleanability requirements prior to selection of the profile. The more aggressive the profile, the greater the impact on cleanability. Posi-Tred O is used for interior applications. It has no significant odor during installation and resists damage from most common chemicals.
